Drive-in Diner Coming to Edwardsville This Summer

Hi-Pointe hais expanding and opening a new location in Edwardsville this summer.

The drive-in restaurant plans to locate inside the business district of Trace on the Parkway at 6147 Trace Parkway Drive, just east of Illinois Route 157 and south of Governors Parkway.

The company was listed as “coming soon” during Edwardsville’s economic forecast breakfast in early March.

Hi-Pointe already has six locations: five in Missouri and one in O’Fallon, Illinois. The drive-in offers all-natural, all-Angus smash burgers, creative sandwiches, shakes and other specials.

The original location’s iconic St. Louis destination started in the 1980s as a little drive-in, according to the Hi-Pointe website. It served burgers and sandwiches in the spot just off of Highway 40 from the historic Hi-Pointe neighborhood.

In Edwardsville, no opening date has been announced but a handful of festivities are planned with local partners to rally Hi-Pointe fans in the lead-up to a summer grand opening of the 3,500-square-foot restaurant. The Hi-Pointe Edwardsville team plans to cooperate with Glik’s for a burger pop-up event with a local charitable give-back component.

“Edwardsville is a community that strongly supports local hospitality and we are excited to offer a gathering place for people to come hang, enjoy a quality burger and get high on Hi-Pointe,” said co-owner Ben Hillman. “We’ve been eyeing Edwardsville as the home for our next location for a few months now. We believe it’s a thriving community that we’re proud to now be a part of.”

Hi-Pointe will be open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
